DESCRIPTION:EMS Education Workshop: Assessment\, AI\, and Academic Integrity  \nwith Dan Limmer at Triton College on Thursday\, November 19th! \n(No Cost – 6 Hours of CEU provided) \nHosted by Triton College\, Sponsored by Superior Ambulance\, Limmer Education\, & Pearson \nEMS education is changing rapidly. New approaches to assessment\, evolving technology\, and artificial intelligence are creating opportunities for educators—but they are also raising new questions about academic integrity\, student performance\, and how we know whether our students are truly prepared for practice. This full-day workshop brings together three timely areas of EMS education: writing better assessment items\, effectively using technology and AI\, and investigating student misconduct and other difficult program issues. \nWe’ll begin with item writing and assessment\, looking at practical ways to develop questions that measure understanding and clinical judgment rather than simple recall. We’ll examine common item-writing problems and explore how technology and AI can help educators create\, evaluate\, and improve assessment materials. \nFrom there\, we’ll take a practical look at AI and technology in EMS education. Where can AI genuinely improve teaching and learning? Where does it fall short? Can we trust what it produces? And perhaps most importantly\, how do we help students use these tools appropriately without allowing technology to become a shortcut around the learning process? \nFinally\, we’ll turn to one of the most difficult responsibilities facing EMS educators: investigating student behavior and misconduct. Drawing on his experience as a retired police investigator and longtime EMS educator\, Dan will share investigative principles that can be applied to issues such as falsified clinical documentation\, academic dishonesty\, dangerous or concerning behavior\, and other situations that require educators to separate fact\, assumption\, and emotion. \nThroughout the day\, the emphasis will be on practical strategies you can take back and use in your EMS program. The goal isn’t simply to talk about what’s changing in EMS education—it’s to give educators better tools for assessing students\, using emerging technology wisely\, and making fair\, defensible decisions when problems arise.  \nUpon completion of this workshop\, you will earn 6 continuing education credits provided by Limmer Education. \nClick here to register
